Trump to Pardon Child Molester?

Trump’s personal lawyer, Todd Blanche, is in talks with Ghislaine Maxwell. Maxwell is an old friend of Trump’s who is now seeking a pardon. She is serving a 20-year prison sentence for child sex trafficking and other crimes with her longtime partner, Jeffrey Epstein. The prosecutors who brought charges against Maxwell repeatedly told the judge overseeing her 2021 trial that she was willing to “brazenly lie under oath about her conduct.”

Maxwell declined to testify in her own defense at trial.

The Justice Department previously accused Maxwell of being a pervasive liar. Her lies were the subject of two perjury counts, arguing that “they evidence her willingness to flout the law in order to protect herself.”

Trump was friends with Epstein — who died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges — and rumors of his potential involvement in Epstein’s grooming and sexual assault of minors have dogged him since.
