Ralph Norman Stands Up

Newsweek had an article on Republicans blocking the release of Epstein files and the testimony of convicted sex trafficker and Epstein confidante, Ghislaine Maxwell. Republican lawmakers have blocked a move that could have forced President Trump‘s administration to release the files on the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein‘s death and investigation. All but South Carolina’s Ralph Norman of the House Rules Committee voted against a Democrat amendment that would have allowed Congress to vote on whether the files should be made public or not.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk previously claimed in a now-deleted social media post that Trump’s name appeared in the Epstein files, and he called on Trump to release the files “as promised.”

Epstein, who had been a wealthy financier with connections, was a child sex offender, and good friend of Trump. He died in his jail cell in 2019 while Trump was president. He was awaiting trial on further charges of sex trafficking minors. He may have wanted a pardon from Trump and threatened to testify at his trial. Trump’s FBI investigators concluded he killed himself despite the prison video being manipulated.
